Laurel Storheim

Laurel Storheim is a certified strength and conditioning coach with a background in collegiate soccer and a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. Her experience as an athlete, combined with her understanding of the brain and body, shapes her holistic approach to coaching.

Laurel loves integrating the mental and physical aspects of training to help young women build strength, confidence, and a deeper understanding of themselves. As a freshman in high school, Laurel's dad signed her up to take weightlifting classes at a local gym. Her strength coach encouraged her to participate in an Olympic weightlifting competition, and Laurel never felt more confident and exhilarated by the physical and mental strength than she did while training in the gym and competing on the floor. That strength continued to serve her into college years and beyond.

For Laurel, confidence in the gym starts with understanding your strengths, trusting your abilities, and learning to own your decisions. Her goal is to help every girl feel empowered, capable, and confident in their own body at any gym they walk into at any point in their life.

Know your body. Train with purpose. Own your strength.

How I coach

Brain and body

Neuroscience and years as an athlete taught the same lesson: the lift is only half the work. Attention, confidence, and how you talk to yourself under the bar are the other half.

How I coach

Program for your needs

Everyone is capable of their goals in the gym when they understand what their body needs — and how to write training that actually supports it.

How I coach

Own the decision

Confidence starts with knowing your strengths, trusting your abilities, and learning to own your choices. The aim is that you feel that in any gym you walk into.

If this is the work you want, let’s start.

Parents, students, and young adults are all welcome. Tell me where you are in your training and what owning your strength looks like for you.
